Dean and I have decided to go on a holiday at the end of the year, but we just can't decide where to go, we have come up with four different options, but just don't know which one to choose. We know that several of our friends have probably been to these places so we want to know your opinions on where to go. I looked on the internet and posted the first photo I could find of each destination.
Option One - India
Obviously India would be amazing. We would probably travel by train around the country, I would also want to go to the jungle to see where Mowgli lived (that book was based in India right?)
Option Two - Peru
We would go to Machu Pichu in Peru, but would probably struggle to spend 4 weeks there, so would travel to neighbouring countries as well, probably by bus, but I would consider hiring a car or something as well.
Option Three - Vietnam
Dean and I were watching top gear a few months ago and they went on a scooter trip through Vietnam, It looked really fun and now we want to do it, we would probably go to Laos and Cambodia as well. The only negative to this trip is that I have already spent a bit of time in Asia and it would be good to go somewhere new.
Option Four - Saudi Arabia
The benefits to this trip are obvious with Pita and Tasi living there. We would be able to take Asher with us would have somewhere nice to stay and would have transport. Its very central to lots of other countries ie Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Jordan and we would even fit in a trip to Israel. Wherever we went we would drive ourselves which is my prefered mode of transport, and we could spend time with family.
As you can see we have four very good options to choose from.

well...they are all amazing options!! Looking at things now, I'd do peru. It's far away, a continent you have never been to (I assume) and with the economy the best bank for your buck. I have tons of travel articles on it I could send you, and Lusch just went there so you can email her. *go to Iguasu falls after and Buenos Aires. WEll, you can't go wrong in SA
OR
Saudi Arabia-- if you have family there AND you get to see heaps of stuff you never had, done and done. But... that also means you could do it next year, when you couldn't afford to go to Peru as easily.
If you do choose India, keep good notes, I'm planning to go there in Feb. wanna come? :)
ahhhhh....why dont you guys just drive a stake through my heart right now. why is everyone around me having a fun and full life whilst i become incompacitated on the couch. I think Peru sounds magnificient.......however Mataura is at its best just before christmas.ILY
Mmmmmm tough choicest - if you guys did decide to go to Peru - i want to come, Ummmmm I agree with mel i wanna go to India so gosh keep notes -- mmmm and you will have asher with your won't you, so i think Saudi would be more child friendly with his cousins thsi is touch I need time to think about it, but ido have lonely planet SA if you want a puruse.
Hi carly. i haven't been to any of those places, but I vote saudi arabia, because you will have so much fun with family/someone in the know.
When would this holiday take place. WE HAVE PLANS AT THE END OF THIS YEAR CARLY. Don't forget it.
But I have heard that Vietnam is anticlimactic, but Laos is supposed to be amazing, Peru I heard is cool also. Saudi Arabia, you have time for that. Go for India, thats what i say, cheap and amazing. Rajastan is incredible, but how long are you planning on being there for, because India has a time limit. And be prepared to accept that you may never want to eat Indian food again. Just the thought of Indian food might make you throw up in your mouth. Maybe.
This is a no brainer - Saudi Arabia!!! We would so plan a road trip to Iran (for sure!) and time permitting drive all the way through to Eastern Turkey. Once we leave SA it'll be impossible to get into the country... all those other places will let you come anytime.
Mmmmm Pitas right : )
That last comment was from Tasi. So I'll have my say. Best option? Saudi, why? cheapest option. We would travel Saudi (including Lehis's trail) in our SUV. Petro cost? Next to nothing. Accommodation? Nothing, We camp in the dessert, beduin style. We pass through Bahrain - we have a friend there = no cost. We next travel through Iran, again camping probably where Alexander the Great did. Then up through Armenia, Eastern Turkey and down through Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and the Holy City. The SUV has a DVD player so we can watch movies the whole way too. Allahu Akbar!
pita you are hilarious! i wish i could come! sounds amazing. Tasi's point hit the nail on the head...you can go to those other places any time, but when could you ever get into saudi?? But i think this is besides the point now as i saw you on friday and you have already decided on saudi ha ha. You will have the most amazing time if only sam and i could come!
